From the owners, Becky & Mike Wrubel:
On our honeymoon over 35 years ago, we were
touring wineries and discovered that Becky was allergic to sulfites (a
preservative used in most wine-making facilities). It can be challenging to find wine without
sulfites, so we decided to try making our own sulfite-free wine. It turned into
a fun hobby for many years. Then in 2012, we thought maybe others might be
interested in sulfite-free wines too. We converted the front half of a large barn
on our property to house a modern wine production facility and The Green Barn
Winery was born!
As a family owned and operated business, we now
have a fifth generation working to learn the art of wine and mead making without
sulfites. Working together has helped us
grow not only as a family, but as a business too.
The Green Barn Winery has a tasting room, a
party room for groups up to 45 people, and retail area with merchandise made by local crafters in
the area. A large portion of our customers are either regulars or referrals, and many have become close friends. Please stop by for your own
free sample, or enjoy a full wine tasting and take home our souvenir glass. We
know you’ll find a wine you will enjoy!
